What is Collaborative Business Intelligence?

Collaborative Business Intelligence is the outcome of combining the information of both retailer and supplier within an interactive Data Warehouse.  At iControl, we call that Information Integration.

Properly executed, Information Integration delivers timely and actionable business insights, driving enhanced business performance through faster and better informed decisions that are based upon data that is complete, accurate, and easier to use than to ignore.

What Kind of Data is Combined in the DataTrue by iControl's Platform?

The kind of data that is combined in DataTrue by iControl is customized to the specific business, objectives, and challenges of our clients.

Typical data sets include supplier deliveries (including Advanced Shipment Notices, or ASN); pricebook and item file synchronization; DEX/NEX store receiving records, if any; Point of Sale (POS) transaction data; promotional initiatives and pricing; planogram and authorized list configurations; and delivery schedules.

Analytics derived out of the data sets include perpetual inventory calculations, inventory forecasting (by store and SKU level), out of stock analysis, shrink analysis and mitigation strategies, SKU rationalization, planogram compliance, supplier performance analysis, margin analysis, category performance analysis, and price optimization.

What Kind of Outcome can an iControl Partners Expect?

The kind of gains partners can expect are profound!  The recently released Promotion Collaboration Survey performed by Trade Promotion Management Association in partnership with Booz Allen Hamilton and DemandTec, included these eye-opening findings:

  • 100% of retailers reported "more effective promotions"
  • 83% reported "more effective and efficient planning"
  • 75% reported "revenue growth"
  • 58% reported "reduced out of stock"

But retailers weren't the only beneficiaries.  The supply chain partners also reported great results:

  • 68% of collaborative supply chain partners reported "more effective and efficient planning"
  • 63% reported "improvements in new product introductions" (versus 9% by less collaborative companies!)
  • 53% reported "revenue growth"
